Stakeholder alignment, service design, project scoping, site planning, functional programming, and conceptual design for an advanced, "Community first" recovery center serving a diverse population of homeless persons. This 8 acre integrated, multifunction campus provides 300 microhousing units and a spectrum of medical, dental, behavioral health, and social services. (experience with prior employer)

During construction of its signature LEED Platinum, Net Zero Energy facility, business needs changed dramatically. For Stantec, John led a multi-disciplinary team of power industry consultants, workplace technologists, industrial engineers, and interior designers in lean re-optimization, re-programming, and re-design of this new 200,000 sf operations building with 50 acre corporation yard and 150,000 sf of maintenance shops and warehouse.

The Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera was formed by merger of two separate performing arts organizations during the financial crisis of 2008 - 2011. John joined the Board of Directors of the new organization to assist in its "resurrection season" and is leading the Board, donors, musicians, and other stakeholders through a Strategic Planning process for the new organization.
